About

We're Jonathan and Ali (from Maine and British Columbia respectively). We met in university and first traveled together during an orchestra tour to Europe in March 2008. We both love to travel and learn about new countries and cultures. This blog was born when we decided to spend our first year of marriage overseas doing volunteer work. A few months after our wedding on August 1, 2011, we traveled to South Korea to work for eight months with the SDA Language Institute. We spent our first two-month term living and working as English/religion teachers in Cheonan (a city about an hour south of Seoul). For our last six months in South Korea we lived in Seoul where Jonathan taught English and religion classes while Ali worked on ESL textbook development.

Now that we're back in North America again, we're doing our best to experience this continent with travelers' eyes. In keeping with each of our hobbies and interests, unless otherwise noted expect to read Ali's writing and see Jonathan's pictures on our blog posts. We hope you enjoy reading about our experiences in Korea and our travels during our term breaks! Thanks so much for stopping by and for commenting. It's always wonderful to hear from people who read our blog!
